Are you working a fully remote job in a different state, but you dream of what else is out there? Tulsa, Oklahoma is a place you should consider, and here is why. Tulsa released a new initiative to help stimulate Tulsa’s economy by paying entrepreneurs and those working from home $10,000 to try Tulsa out for one year. The best part is that you have no obligation to stay if you find that Tulsa is not your home!
Tulsa is home to so many thriving businesses. You will find hidden treasures such as summers filled with local festivals, a metropolitan that comes alive with bands at night, and a whole host of things to do! A few of our favorite places include https://www.philbrook.org/, https://www.gatheringplace.org/, & https://tulsazoo.org/. There is no shortage of fun for the entire family. Tulsa is a very historical community with roots that run in the oil industry, it is culturally diverse & rich and home to some of the best private universities. The iconic Route 66 and Greenwood (Black Wallstreet) is a few of the historically rich neighborhoods. In recent years Black Wallstreet has received media attention for the tragic 1921 Black Wallstreet Massacre which Tulsans have rallied together to rebuild, raise awareness, and grow the most prominent & prosperous African American community.
What is Tulsa Remote?
Tulsa Remote was launched in November 2018 and is an innovative approach to help stimulate and grow Tulsa’s economy. The thought process is that by having new businesses move here the economic growth will soar as they spend their money in our existing businesses. To be eligible for the program you must be a full-time remote worker that has not lived in Tulsa in the past year. This does mean that if you previously lived in Tulsa, you are still eligible as long as you have been away for at least a year.
What Are The Benefits?
Along with the $10,000 stipend for being accepted into the program there are added benefits. You have access to a free downtown coworking space at 36 degrees north: https://www.36n.co/ for 3 years! Those that are accepted into the program may be eligible for a healthcare stipend to help cover insurance costs. On top of that, you have access to a whole host of networking opportunities to increase your brand & company awareness.
